π§πΌβπ Register as a ParticipantThe UX research challenge is an opportunity for designers to deeply understand user needs, preferences, and challenges. Through rigorous research, designers cultivate empathy, set aside biases, and identify core issues to develop clear problem statements. The two phases designers will tackle in this UX Research Challenge are mentioned below:
Phase 1
Uncover insights crucial for problem-solving through user research activities. Gain a deep understanding of user needs, pain points & behaviour.
Phase 2
Define problem statements & success criteria and begin articulating solutions. Set the stage for design direction (ideation & prototyping).
Get in-depth information on challenge structure & meet the challenge coordinators & mentors of UXRC.
Meet your team and mentor. Establish efficient and effective communication & collaboration channels.
Choose from 5 challenge prompts. Learn & engage in interactive workshops led by industry experts. Conduct a thorough discovery research & define the problem space in the UXR Challenge.

The UX Research Challenge is a design challenge that focuses on the Discovery phase of the design process. The event also includes engaging workshops and design presentation & critique sessions. It's an opportunity for both seasoned professionals and newcomers to refine skills, explore emerging tech, and contribute to UX design.
The challenge is open to researches / designers of all levels, providing a valuable learning experience. Junior designers can up-skill facets of design thinking while more experienced designers can up-skill their research leadership skills.

The registration fee is CAD 100 or USD 74. Payment details and options can be found once you begin the registration process.
The registration fee serves as the primary funding source for the challenge, ensuring a rewarding experience for all participants.
Teams are formed considering criteria such as time zone, experience level, and availability which you will be providing in the registration form.

There are no strict prerequisites, but a basic understanding of UX research principles is beneficial.
Although there are no required time commitments, participants spend an average of 15 hours per week in the Challenge.
The coordinators are there to provide you with a detailed guide on the structure, deadline, tasks and resources for the research challenge. You will also have the support from industry professionals as mentors to help and guide you throughout the challenge. In addition, we have multiple research experts providing valuable interactive workshops during the challenge.
